Luau Party Prep

To start getting ready for my party Yaya and I planted flowers in the pots around the pool
Yaya is an excellent planter, Mommy is an excellent plant killer
Then my slide arrived
The luau was Mom's idea, the slide was Dad's idea
I warmed the slide up before my luau nap!
Uncle Rob warmed it up while attempting not take it down...
While I was napping all kinds of luau gear appeared
Including the coconut drinks!
The tiki was guarding the cute, but not great sucking, straws.
Luckily it was VBS at Briley and Jack Shack's church
It was a luau theme... this sign used to say Crafts Ha!
Dad was not sure what the point of tiki torches were without the fluid...
but Mom said that they set a mood and we don't need a fire for Lord's sake
This tiki hut was also a gift from Springhill Baptist Church
The biggest help was the 75 hot dogs we received due to a rained out party on Friday night!
Have I mentioned we had a few tikis
Just a few
Speaking of tikis....
After everything was set up some of my best fans took their seats to watch the fun go down!
Head tiki dorks!
Aunt Tiki
Nana Tiki
The grandfathers Tiki
Soon to be Uncle Tiki
Let's party people!

Butterfly Update

It is a miracle...
those caterpillars actually turned into butterflies!
Here they are looking so innocent
(And Mom was pretty sure they looked dead)
But she was wrong we got up one morning and found them all flittering around
Here is the proof
Now I told you that story so I could tell you this one...
This week Yaya and Bee have been here helping me get ready for my birthday Luau!
I had released all but one of my butterflies
Yaya and Bee told me that my butterfly was going to die if I didn't let it go... I mean they went on for 2 days about it. So I agreed, we went outside and watched by beautiful butterfly swoop around the pool. Then we watched a bird swoop and EAT my butterfly.
End of Story!

A Partying Kind of Week

The last week has been jam packed with goods times with good pals!
October is a popular month to expand your family.... because of all these friends were born in June. (I have mentioned before my mother and father decided to bring me into the world 4 days after Christmas, but I am celebrating this year in June!)
Mary Kate joined the 3 club!
(Please see previous post of her displaying her age with her fingers)
We will attend pre-school together for the next 2 years
Those lucky teachers
Allie turned 4!
We got to go to the movies to watch Toy Story 3
Friends lined up for our private viewing!
Awesome!
Happy Birthday Allie Pallie!
Carter also rocked in his 4th birthday Toy Story Style!
I was generous enough to "help" him with his presents
I hope I can remember to let him "help" me at my party
Pinata time!
The dreamboat celebrated his 4th year at the park... Batman style!
Briley and I worked over some hot dogs in honor of Jack, who loves a hot dog!
(Possibly why he is as tall as his brother Clayton who is 6)
Jack was playing hard to get and not interested in getting a photo op with me...
But I got a little love from his Mama!
Next it was on to my first slumber party to celebrate Kennon turning 4!
(She got her ears pierced)
Here we are after opening her presents...
I am pretty sure I was having a moment about presents!
Briley was having a moment about Michael Jackson
It is not a sleepover without make-up!
Last, but not least, we round out the week with cousin Lee turning 16!
He had to complete a scavenger hunt!
He came to my house to retrieve his 6 shooters and hat...
his next clue took him to the movie theater where he had to get his pic taken with a kid waiting to see Toy Story 3
He had his pals riding with him on this adventure!
Now THIS is my kind of party!

Happy Day Daddy!

This year I made my first card for Dad at school!
I made it will my own 2 hands!
Since my card was all about holding hands I decided to stick with that theme...
Holding hands, walking and talking with my number one fella
Here he is.... my very special Dad!
We may not always walk at the same pace
But he is there for me...
To make tough decisions
To enjoy the sand between our toes
To play
To pretend...
To explore...
To dream...
To carry me...
To push me...
To walk beside me...
To carry stuff for me...
To explain things...
To buy me stuff...
And he is there to encourage me!
I usually try to stay away from getting sappy on this blog but sometimes it just has to be done

I like these 2 guys too!

Happy Father's Day to some of the best guys I know!
