Team Cheeseburger

Jennifer sent some pics her husband took at a softball game recently!

Memories...

Oh this photo brings back many memories and sums up the dynamics of my family.

Let's start with me because this is my blog.  The outfit alone states just how cool I was, the look on my face confirms it.  I was going to do the exact opposite of what I was told to do.  Sista, the ever perfect child, with her Nellie Olsen bow at the age of 9.  Rob and his sword, he was always a little weird, but this sword says it all.  Mother is obviously verbally assaulting the stranger taking this photo.  Is it possible that they were not doing it to her standard????  Snarf, Snarf.  And then there is my Dad, just hanging out. 

 I write all of this down because these are my people and I love them, who they are and how we operated. And I post this picture because it is HILARIOUS!

But also because my own sweet family leaves soon to go stay at the hotel pictured in this photo, to make memories of our own... I have come full circle.   I am so excited for my own family to make this memory because of the ones I have from my childhood.  Too bad I can't find those sunglasses...

Kindergarten Open House

Our girl is going to kindergarten!

We went to the open house at her new school... Rhea Elementary!

We hadn't even gotten in the door when we ran into old pals.

Miss Stacey and Aunt Carrye were running the PTO table selling all their goods.

We are now the proud owners of a Rhea Rocket t-shirt.  

Stacey used to be a blog regular but hasn't had any face time since her son Lee went to kindergarten.

Maybe next year we can get some more photos since I will be running around Rhea school too!

Miss Donna was Caroline's story hour teacher!

We have missed her since starting pre-school.

But we have made new friends at pre-school too.

Like these two cuties. AC and CJ 

CEK got to visit a kindergarten classroom and sing a song, color a picture and hear a story!

Here is CEK hustling her dad to read her the book they gave her at kindergarten while she waits for BAM.  Marty Ann was 5 minutes later than we were, which put them in different classes for the open house, which nearly caused Rhea school to go up in flames!

But sister friends found each other and all was right with the world!

I am so thrilled for my girl who is growing up.

I am also a complete basket case.

Here we come Rhea.....

Number 2 in our program....

(That little saying is a "Bobism". I find myself slowly turning into my father. I use "Bobisms"

I drink unsweet tea all day - the same one just adding ice. I walk

around with my headphones on listening to books and I can fall asleep in 6 seconds)

Speaking of girls and their dads...

Here is my girl and her dad and they make me proud!

We had our first softball game and here is team Kenworthy.

I will have a full post dedicated to a game when I can get someone to take

pictures during the game. Currently I am dugout Mom and wrestling 12 girls

under the age of 6 while they wait to bat takes my full attention.

These 2 require most of the wrestling!

My girls both hit the ball in both innings. (We only play 2 innings. I mean they are 5 it takes an hour to get that done.)

Easter Hunt at School

CEK had her Easter egg hunt at school on Monday after spring break!

She was dressed like she was going to the prom.

Fights about clothes in our house are becoming a daily thing.

CEK and her buddies AC, MK and BAM.

Easter is over people. I promise.

that sounds sarcastic but I loved them!

Caroline loved them more.

We were invited to spend Easter afternoon at the Richardsons.

The Easter bunny (aka Jamie) dropped some eggs in the yard!

CEK broke out into a sprint when she heard the word go...

She was in serious hunting mode!

However all three kids hit the jackpot!

It was a great Easter.

Tooth Fairy

First the tooth was loose.

I couldn't believe it when CEK came running at me to tell me her tooth was loose.

Of course she proved it very quickly by wiggling it!

She wiggled and wiggle and wiggled...

And then it just fell out while she was watching TV... she almost swallowed it.

But she didn't.

But what she did do was show it to show everyone she encountered on Sunday.

GROSS!

Sunday night we put it in the little box that CEK got at school.

The tooth fairy left a lovely note and $10.

I explained that the Tooth Fairy usually leaves $10 for the first tooth and $1 for any additional teeth.

Our girl is growing up!

That Pre-School Shirt!

I may have mentioned before that CEK is serious about 2 things.... being first and rule following.

Now at HCCPS the rule is... that if you have on your pre-school shirt you get to get your snack first. At the end of March I had had enough! I was so done with that shirt 4 to 5 days a week!

I have one child that I enjoy purchasing clothes for and she MUST wear that shirt every day.

You might ask why I don't have more control over my child and her clothes but I don't.

What's this you might ask?

CEK and I have made a compromise....

We cut that emblem off her shirt to make a necklace.

This was great with CEK because it was a craft.

It took a lot of supplies to get this necklace just right!

We glued it to a piece of cardboard and bedazzled it.

Glued a string to it and tahdah....

We were off to pre-school.

However the bedazzled necklace was too heavy and broke on the way to school.

This led to a meltdown that you would not believe.

After that I just got smart... I took her other pre-school shirt (we have 3 total) and made a color copy of the emblem. Then I laminated it, hole punched it, added a string and again tahdah...

I happier kid with a less bedazzled necklace

and a VERY understanding pre-school teacher!
