A Broken Arm

The Skating Rink!
So many good times were had there until we broke our arm!
The readers digest version is this:
CEK and Audrey went skating with Amelia and we were going to pick them up and leave for Tunica for the swim championship.
I got a text from Sharon stating CEK had fallen and hurt her arm - but was continuing to skate - she assumed it was not too bad!  We headed straight to the rink. When we walked in our kid fell apart - bless her!  Chip thought we better take her to the ER - I thought we should just head on to Tunica and swim.  (This is the point Chip looked at me like I was nuts!)
So here we are waiting at the ER!
Here they are confirming my baby has a broken are and that I am the worst mother ever - at the same time! All with one X-ray!
So we got this temporary brace.wrap thing and went home to wait on a orthopedic appt. Monday.
Audrey went on the the swim championship and rocked it!
We did this!
Monday morning CEK went to school long enough for everyone to sign her cast and me to get her into the specialist.  Who confirmed that CEK had a buckle fracture!
She got her new brace and instructions to wear for 4 weeks!
She would get it off just in time for softball!

I turned 38 and we celebrated with ice cream in our jammies!
One of my most favorite things to do!

American Girl Store Adventure

For her birthday CEK got the new American Girl from Yaya and Bob!
Grace - loves all things Paris and so was perfect for CEK!
She arrived the day before a scheduled trip to St. Louis with the grandparents!
We arrived at the hotel and the hotel provided an american girl gift!
Thank God - cause we certainly do not have enough stuff!
These 2 are about to lose 3 hours of their lives they will never get back in the doll store!
We took Celia with us on this adventure!
Cause duh...
 I got to go too!
Celia bought Grace with her birthday money as soon as we arrived!
The two lovely women behind them worked their magic to provide the Graces with new hair!
What do you do for a living? I am a doll hair artist!
Matching doll/girl pajamas were purchased and the night was complete!
The next day it was the C&C show!
They were matching head to to and ready to go again!
 These 2 were ready too!
Except Bob wasn't haha - he went to the mall!
 Because we had lunch reservations!
Celia and Caroline's birthday are about 2 weeks apart.
Except Celia is a year older! So we celebrated both girls!
Everything at the lunch was tiny!
Except Yaya (and me) we are NOT tiny!
A wonderful weekend was had by all!

Martin Luther King Jr.

Caroline won an essay contest!
Winning was nice but the content of her essay is what we were most proud about!
The contest was for students throughout the county to discuss Martin Luther King JR.
Caroline wrote about upholding his dream for equality and she wrote about it beautifully!
She got to dress up and march to the square with her teacher and her family!
 Rickey, Lynda and Caroline!
Showing off her award with Mrs. Searcy!
Receiving her award from the President of the local NAACP
This kid continues to blow us away!
It is safe to say the 2 goofs behind her never even won an award for perfect attendance!

Break A Leg

Or an arm...but that is a few posts down the road!
CEK participated in the children's theater over Christmas Break!
The production was "Bailey and The Bees"
I am sure you have heard of it...it is on Broadway! Snarf!
All of her biggest fans were in attendance!
These 4 people drove 5 hours and sat through another play that was by far the worst thing I had ever seen to watch their this girl say 4 lines!
This kid is loved!
 The Bears!
The Bees were performed by someone behind the stage with a microphone going BZZZZZZ
 CEK and Celia!
Another adventure in the books!

It's Been a little bit...

Again I have failed my 4 readers by not updating the blog...
I vow to do so here, this very morning.
Starting with the new year and catching up!
We hosted the 2nd Annual New Year's Eve party - this year I got smart!
I confined these crazy 7 (Amelia had family in town) to the upstairs bonus room.
Which has been used a total of 10 times since we built it 4 years ago.
CEK and I made a schedule of games and activities and there was more food than the law should allow!
We were ready!
Brandy Gail helped with the first activity....
Sidenote: Brandy has apparently been voted coolest Crazy 8 mom!
Which what the Hell????? But I know why - I mean she is cool - but she also has an amazing way of manipulating these 8 year old girls into thinking that what they are doing (at any given time) is of their own free will! The rest of us may just scream like lunatics... I have seen it!
Anyway...
There were crafts, games and snacks and all in all it was a fabulous evening!
Praise God for the Eastern time zone!
I figure I have one more year before they figure this out!
 The morning after!
Happy New Year folks!
