Fall Break

Ahhh Fall Break.  We have only had this trip planned for 6 months....since spring break.
We booked cabins and campsites at Piney campground 6 MONTHS AGO!
Then the government shut down and closed Piney.  Oh well that is what we get for planning!
We will show the government.... we just moved to a state park! Natchez to be exact.  And we rocked it!
Early risers after night 1! CEK was a tad bit tired still.  We got to bring Olivia with us again this year.
One of the coolest kids ever.
Our sites had a gorgeous view of the lake (take that Piney) and the kids fished - lots!
 Gathering at the fishing hole!
Here CEK is taking Chip to her secret fishing spot.... 50 yards away.
 Very sneaky CEK
After fishing and breakfast we played ball.
You need to know this... I am actually terrified of softball/baseball.
I can't hit, I can't catch and I REALLY can't throw!
CEK got her skills from this fella.
The Babe Ruth of our house!
Here is my assigned position in the outfield because my friends know that I can't hit, catch or throw.
I was picked dead last when the teams were picked.  Understandable.
I was actually assigned to baseline in an attempt to keep me out of the way.  I am fine with that.
Next we played kickball.  I was picked a little higher because my friends know I have good, sturdy polish legs with which to kick.  However, I am still lacking in the catching department.
After we were all good and winded we headed back to camp.
This is my kind of game!
Then the kids wanted to go for a bike ride....
What? Mr Whiskers is photo bombing us and cramping our style.
They claimed not to need an adult.
 They were wrong.
Does that make up for the fact that none of them are wearing helmets?
Definately.
 Dinner on the ground.
The bigger version of the the children above.
Night brought darkness, jammies and JENGA
Leave it to Ruth, the most creative of the bunch, to bring giant Jenga.
 It was awesome.
All that gaming wore this kid out.
FYI - She is starting to get dreadlocks and a stench about her at this point.
Day 2 brought very cold weather.  But we are not a bunch of weenies.
So we carved pumpkins

The kids played in the woods.
Somehow I didn't get a picture of their fort.  But it was awesome.
At one point they came out and announced they were playing Hunger Games.
I asked Caroline how to play and what the Hunger Games were - she said she didn't know but it was sooo cool.  Above she is doing her Katniss impression.  (I think Katniss was actually cleaner than CEK)
These 2 were the fire whispers.
There was much deep discussion over this fire that didn't stop for 3 nights.
But on the last night the children finally got tired.
They snuggled in to watch a movie
Hunter, Ben, Fisher, CEK, Audrey, Emma, Izzy and Olivia.
And then the parents made funnel cakes.
I know... we thought we were pretty awesome too.
They didn't look as good as the carnival but they tasted just fine!
Happy Fall Break!

Random

CJ, CEK and BAM wanted to go to the homecoming parade!
They are loving going to football games and watching the cheerleaders!
 Big Fans!
They got their picture taken with their gymnastics Coach Camille.
Coach Camille was named homecoming queen the next night!
These girls were pretty sure they were one step away from a celebrity.
Here they are with their swim team hair stalking the cheerleaders!
Our class won a Dippin' Dots party thanks to the generous contributions of several family members I know. Some of whom have failed to cough up pledges they promised..... Aunt Bee?
Random early morning cooking with this sweet face!
 Fall softball is over!
It was a really fun season and we a excited CEK got to participate!
We went to watch Callie play powder puff football....
OMG is was rough.  2 girls left in ambulances!
The Paris Swim Team had their first practice meet  last week!
Some of my favorite girls are swimming this year.
AC, CEK, Jean and BAM brought their best strokes.
So did Amelia and Mary Kate but I have no idea where they were during this pic taken by MAM.
You can't trust Marty to take a picture.
 So proud of this girl!
These 2 were most excited about the snacks after.
Nana was here last week and we played lots of Uno.
Nana got to see a softball game, swim meet and fall party!
The mummy game makes me smile!
Happy Fall!

Lady G

Genevieve came for the weekend.  She brought her mother and father but I didn't take any pictures of them.
We immediately stuck her in a box. Snarf!
We spent Sunday morning doing all the things CEK likes to do.... mainly arts and crafts!
 G loved markers
 CEK decorated G's
 They made brownies
 Cutest babe ever!
Cutest Cousins Ever!
