Haunted Mansion

So about a month ago I purchase CEK a Fancy Nancy sticker book to get her through church.

(I will do anything) She loved the book, in which Nancy and her best friend Bree hosted a Haunted Mansion on Halloween. CEK asked if she could have a haunted mansion and of course we agreed. She had fabulous ideas and you can make anything spooky to a 4 year old if you cover it in $1 spider webs and add a fog machine.

We asked our partners in crime, BAM and MAM to help and the party planning was in full swing! CEK had the idea to turn her play room into a mummy school and wrap all the animals like mummies. She made a spooky tea party in the dining room and turned her bathroom into the hair salon from you know where...

Then they came! All of CEK and BAM's friends.

We partied in the garage.

CEK decided to feature Dorothy this year...

BAM was the wicked witch of the west.

You can't have a party around here without calling in for reinforcements!

Yaya and Bob came to celebrate halloween weekend with their girl!

I think Yaya had as much fun with the party as I did.

Please note that CEK demanded that I dress like a vampire!

We bobbed for apples and it was a hit!

I might have helped CEK the first time, but then she got about 4 more on her own.

BAM was a successful bobber too!

Green Belt

CEK tested for her green belt yesterday!

When I say "tested" I mean was promoted... I must be clear that you never "fail"

There is some written questions that must be answered. I have successfully done this at every belt stage. With CEK being 4 and all, it is rough for her to write in Korean. So technically I am now a green belt as well.

Here we go...

Now I need to tell another story...The Perry family has started Tae Kwon Do!

Well Craig and Callie have started Tae Kwon Do, Shelli and Lee are their support group!

They were set to "test" for their yellow stripe belt yesterday too.

Callie had a speech team competition. So it was just Craig "testing" yesterday.

He was such a good sport, as he was the oldest testing by 20 years and 2 feet taller than everyone else testing.

There are tons of adults that take tae kwon do, we have seen them test before, this month just wasn't there month. However, the best part was when Master Dinh called him up to show off his moves. He called him Kevin. I nearly fell out of my chair. He proceded to call him Kevin the entire day and Craig just answered. It was awesome!

Down on the Farm

HCCP took their first field trip of the year last week.

Miss Connie, one of CEK's teachers and her sitter, invited the class to her farm.

CEK was very excited about having all her classmates with her at Miss Connie's house.

Due to a work obligation I had not planned on attending this trip.

But the night before, things got moved around and I got to go.

CEK was pretty pumped to have her whole family there.

I later realized she would delegate tasks to her parents while she ran around.

Chip's job was to catch a fish.

CEK supervised for a short time before handing this task over to him completely.

This was hilarious!

Possibly for the children who did not want to ride a real horse.

These two were not 2 of those children.

Mr. Dale (Husband to Miss Connie) was the horse whisperer.

CEK and BAM adore this man.

Back to fishing....

Marty Anne was also on a fish mission.

I would like to introduce you to the 8 year old brim fishing champion of somewhere.

Her shirt says it all!

Marty Anne was also successful in snaggging a fish with her Barbie fishing pole.

Unfortunately I was assigned hayride duty by CEK and missed it.

Next we fed some animals.

I am pretty sure that CEK feeds these chickens daily.

I am also sure that she snags eggs from them daily.

But that rooster seemed a little irritated that all these kids were around,

so this is as close as I let her get.

Ahhh a kitten.

Star of the Week!

My girl was Star of the Week at school last week!

Caroline was loving all of the attention.

She had to answer some questions and bring pictures to share with her class.

Very proud of her Star Wall!

Miss Angie read the class her favorite book!

On Friday Chip and I went to her school to share her star snack!

This is the best family photo we got!

She also got to invite a star guest.

Here he is.... Poppy!

He told the class about safety.

(That translates to 26 kids asking him about catching bad guys)

It was pink day on Friday.

Poppy admitted later it was harder to talk to 26 4 year olds

than it is to "catch bad guys"

I can't figure out how to turn this picture, but I thought it was so sweet.

CEK was so proud of her Poppy.

Her snack was a happy meal!
